About

Why Evergreen exists

Because staying active and independent shouldn't depend on getting to an appointment — and because movement is best practised in the place where life actually happens.

Ivan Garrido

Certified Kinesiologist — Canadian Kinesiology Alliance (CKA) · Member, Kinesiology PEI

Over ten years of working with people on how they move, one thing became clear to Ivan: the moments that matter most rarely happen in a clinic. They happen at home — standing up from a favourite chair, carrying groceries in from the car, taking the stairs without holding the rail quite so tightly.

That's why Evergreen goes to people instead of asking them to come in. Working in someone's own space means seeing the real doorways, the real steps and the real routines, and building movement around them. It also removes the travel, the waiting room and the rush — which, for many adults, is the difference between starting something and putting it off.

Independence is the whole point. Movement is simply the most practical way to protect it. Ivan's approach is unhurried and conversational: he wants to know what you'd like your days to look like — gardening without stiffness, walking further along the waterfront, feeling steadier on the stairs — and then works backwards from there.

Professionally, Ivan is a Certified Kinesiologist recognized by the Canadian Kinesiology Alliance and a member of Kinesiology PEI. His Canadian professional recognition is distinct from his international education: he holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology from Universidad Andrés Bello in Chile and brings more than ten years of professional experience in human movement, exercise and functional mobility. Evergreen provides kinesiology and wellness services; it does not provide physiotherapy services.
